My 5 Year Plan...

There comes a time when we get older and we need to think about our future. Well that time is almost here for me and I'm thinking about my future. For the reason that I love kids, when I'm older I would love to become a pediatrician. Although it’s going to be very challenging, I will still try my best to pursue my dream.  

Within the next 5 years, I see many different events happening in my life. One major thing that I see myself doing is moving to Australia. Although I love Bali, I want to move to Australia because there are a lot more opportunities and there is better schooling. I see myself graduating from John XXIII College, the high school in which I plan on doing to in Perth, WA. This is the same one in which my brothers go to and I will choose medical related subjects such as human biology, as I wish to become a doctor when I’m older, although if possible, also specialize as a pediatric. I will be going to university after school, hopefully at UWA (University of Western Australia) studying medical science. My family and I will move to Perth at the end of next year and I will complete year 11 and 12, and start university once I finish. 

My future consists of a lot of hard work, although I am hoping it will all go as planed. Both my older brothers are doing similar things as I am hoping to, and are succeeding. So I hope that one day I can do the same and make my family proud of whom I will become.

Biography...

Carmelina Agostino

“I have enjoyed every moment of my life and don’t have any regrets.” Carmelina Agostino’s life started on the 1^st of September 1940. Born in the city of Calabria, Italy, Melina lived a wonderful life with many enjoyable events. Growing up in the beautiful, small town of Cinque Fronde, Reggio, Melina grew up in a big family consisting her parents, her 5 sisters and herself. She lived in a decent house and owned land nearby in which her family grew olives, wheat, corn and several other foods. To gather money, they used the olives to produce olive oil and sold it to the people in the town.

Melina was a very happy child and had many friends that she would enjoy spending time with, from going to church on weekends for mass, to having little get together at home. Sunday was a day of celebration for Melina and her friends and family. With having music playing on the record, they would dance together around the house and several young men would try and peak through the window to watch them dancing.

Melina’s parents were very kind and loving. Her mother was a typical housewife and took care of the family. She loved growing crops and Melina loved helping her cook. “My father was a very loving man and he looked after us well and was always very caring.” In the year 1951, Melina’s father traveled to Sydney, Australia on a boat. He worked very hard in damps, making money and eventually bought a house in Sydney. By the year 1956, the rest of Melina’s family came to join him.

Moving to Australia was a big shock towards Melina and her family, as they didn’t understand any English. Her mother didn’t like living in Australia and wished to go back to Italy. Melina had lots of interests and was always a busy young girl. In her spare time, she would love to go to the sewer and learn how to sow, knit and just loved being creative. She also loved to do embroidery and was taught by the nuns in the dresser. Melina has always loved fashion and clothing, and took pride in the way she looked. This led her to one of her first jobs.

One year after moving to Australia, Melina started one of her first jobs Manufacturing lingerie in a big clothing factory in Sydney, and she found it very difficult as she didn’t understand a word of English. At this time, it was also when she met her husband Giuseppe Agostino (Joe). Joe was a very loving man and took care of Melina. Within 6 months of meeting each other, they got married and moved to Perth, Australia. In 1958, they had their fist child, a daughter named Rosa, and 3 years after they had their son, Sam. With starting to settle into her new live, Melina and her family bought a business in Scarbra, near their family house in Perth, 1964.

Melina has lived a long and enjoyable life. She has experienced a lot within the 74 years of her life. She is proud of everything she has accomplished in her life. She is loved and looked up to by all her family and friends. She cares most about her family and is a very caring woman. “I want to be remembered as a kind woman and good person.”- Carmelina Agostino.

My Autobiography...

My life is like a slice of cake. I’ve always had it good, from day one. I’ve lived an easy and enjoyable life that started on the 4^th of July 1999. Born in a small city of Solo, Java, Indonesia, I’ve always had Indonesian culture around me. I have lived in Bali ever since I was 1 years old and started at my school, AIS, from 2002-current. Being born a mixed child, half Indonesian half Australian, with Italian background, I’ve experienced many different things in life from many different cultures.

I have 2 brothers who have always been on my back, taking any opportunities to annoy me, although I’ve always had a great relationship with my family. We lived in this huge house with lots of rooms and I loved playing hide and seek with my brothers and friends. During Easter my dad bought chocolate Easter eggs and hid them all around the house, and we had Easter hunts that went on for hours. I guess you could call my family adventurous as we always went on long trips, having picnics, and being on the beach a lot as my dad use to be a fanatic surfer. As a young child I was very creative and loved to do art, creating bracelets and decorating everything. I was also very adventurous and loved long walks in the rice fields with my big brother, getting lost and finding secrete hide outs.

We loved traveling, my family, and exploring the world. That is what led me to my first big trip in 2007. We flew to America and stayed with one of my dad’s friends in Los Angeles. It was a fun trip and an amazing experience. We were also very fortunate to be able to travel around Europe, counting 4 trips already. We love history, seeing and exploring the world, observing the old buildings, statues, etc. during long trips on the plane I loved listening to music, which is one of the major things in my life.

I loved music, loved singing from a very young age. When I was 11 years old I got my very own piano, and started taking lessons for both piano and singing. That became my passion till today and I constantly sing, taking all the opportunities to perform even though I’ve always been shy. Singing is my hobby; its what makes me happy. There’s not a day that goes past without me using my vocal cords and my family always tells me to be quite because of how much I sing. I loved joining school productions and performances as well, even though I lack in self-confidence.

So far, my life has been great and very enjoyable. With in the 15 years of my life, I have experienced so much and have already created so many memories. I’ve traveled to so many places, seeing and learning many new things. Life is a beautiful thing. Be happy with what you have and enjoy every moment.

Timeline Of My Life...

• Born in a small city of Sukoharjo, Solo, on the 4th July 1999.
•  Lived in java for 1 year, moved to Bali in 2000
• First plane trip and first time in Australia 2001. Go back to Australia almost every Christmas since then. Often, my grandfather took my brother and I to the park and we loved playing on the swings since Bali doesn’t have any parks.
• Had a good relationship with my family and was close with my 2 brothers. Many road trips, playing in the beach, and having picnics. 
•  2002- started school at AIS 
•  Lived in the same huge house till the age of 13. Had many rooms and always played hide and seek with my brothers and friends. During ester, my dad hid chocolate eggs all around the house and we had Easter hunts that went on for hours.
• Owned 2 German shepherds who then had 5 babies. We only kept one named TJ.
• Started school at AIS from age 3, in 2002-current.
• Did ballet and other dance lessons at the age of 5 and went on and off it till today.
• Was always creative and loved art, creating pieces of art, bracelets and decorating everything. 
•  Traveled a lot and at age 7, went to America. Often travel around Europe, counting 4 trips already.
• Was a very adventurous little girl. Often had long walks in the richfield’s, going to secret places with my brother. 
•   Age 11- got my own piano. Have always loved music and started piano and singing lessons. Sang all the time since I was still very little, always joining school productions and performances.

How To Make A Non-bake Cheesecake...

Cheesecake is a very delicious desert that is rich and creamy. This desert only consists of a few ingredients and you don't need an oven to bake it. It is a little time consuming, although very simple and can be made by anyone.

The ingredients you will need are:

250g of any semi-sweet biscuits 

150g of unsalted butter (at room temperature)

3 sheets of gelatin 

¼ cup hot water

500g of cream cheese 

½ a lemon

⅔ cups of sugar

2 tsp of vanilla extract 

250g of thick cream (wiped)

Step 1: Prepare a 20cm round (base) spring form pan with parchment paper for easy removal. 

Step 2: Grab the biscuits and crush them into crumb-sized pieces, using a food processor or by hand. Mix in the unsalted butter. Consistency should resemble wet sand. Place mixture into pan, spread evenly on the bottom to form the base of the cheesecake. Refrigerate for 10 minutes, or until firm.

Step 3: Combine the gelatin sheets and the water and melt over a double boiler. Stir until melted and liquefied. Set aside to cool slightly. 

Step 4: Combine the cream cheese and the sugar and mix well with an electric whisk, or with a normal whisk by hand. Once smooth and creamy, add the zest of half a lemon, as well as the juice. Add the vanilla extract and mix until fully incorporated.

Step 5: Whip the cream and stir into the cream cheese mixture. Add the gelatin and mix until fully incorporated. Once combined place on top of the biscuit base and spread evenly.

Step 6: Refrigerate for 3-4 hours or until firm. Finally, decorate with some fresh strawberries or the fruit of your choice and serve.

Physical Descriptions...

Steve

Steve's physical description could be described as casual but tough. He wore the usual pair of old jeans, a flanno shirt, and athletic shoes. Steve had a real tough look to him with short-wiry hair, a tall, fit body, and usually looked intimidating. He is a successful, smart, confident and determined man that everyone was scared of and could intimidate anyone, even with very few words and actions. 

Steve has many strength, as well as a few weaknesses. Steve has the power to not think too much about what others think and doesn't let anyone bring him down. He never gives up; he is determined and is very mature. On the other hand, Steve also has a few weaknesses such as how he is anti-social and lives solitary. He doesn't talk to many people and doesn’t think of what other people are dealing with. He mostly thinks of himself. 

I think Steve’s defying moment in the story 'When Dogs Cry' is when he finally realizes that Cameron is very capable and he stops doubting and underestimating him. Throughout the book, Steve has changed quite a bit. His thoughts about his brothers are the things that changed the most as he has underestimated them, especially Cameron. He is more opening minded at the end of the story and he develops the ability to tell and admit to Cameron that he was wrong about him. One quote that would sum up Steve’s character is "my brother Steven Wolfe is what you'd call a hard bastard."- Cameron (Chapter 2, Page 17). 

I think that this picture best resembles Steve. Steve loves footy and he is as tough as leather. He is strong and there is one small hole in the ball that would represent the little amount of information and feelings he lets in and out. From the outside, he is solid and looks tough.

Soundtrack Of My Life

My whole life I've always loved and listened to music, although if I had a soundtrack of my life, these songs would probably best represent me:  

1. Ringa ringa roses 

Ringa ringa roses is one of my biggest childhood songs that I loved. Growing up, my grandma and my dad would always sing this to me while doing this little dance with their fingers and they would tickle me so much water would fill my eyes.

 

2. Mr. bombastic- from Mr. Bean



This song reminds me so much of the crazy times I've had with my friends. Ana and I use to follow the dance that Mr. Bean did to this song and we would always act silly, dancing like crazy people.


3. Halo- Beyonce

Halo was and still is one of my favorite songs and it reminds me of my brothers, as we all love it so much. I would usually listen to a song and get sick to it after 2-3 weeks, although halo is a song I always listen to ever since I was 5 years old.


4. Danza Kudro- Don Omar 

This song brings me back to days i would spend with my cousin Lidia and we would dance and sing to this song. Lidia would teach me how to do salsa and when this song comes on, i think of Lidia and feel like dancing.


5. Read all about it- Emeli Sande

This song is very powerful, has such a strong meaning and is very special to me. If I were ever going through a rough time, this song would help me get through it. I love the lyrics and it just encourages me to be myself.
