Mid-Year Holidays

Our mid-year holidays started on Friday, 13th of June 2014. By the next morning my family and I went on a very long plane trip all the way to Barcelona, Spain. We flew to Barcelona because my grandma organized a big family cruise around Europe. We went on a 12 day cruise around the Mediterranean sea which started of in Barcelona, then took us up to Marseille, down to Italy, and many other places.

There were 18 of us traveling and we did many fun activities. The cruise ship itself featured many different facilities such as 2 swimming pools, a kids area, a casino, a library/ lounge room, and many other activities. I had a great experience and one of my favorite things about traveling on a ship was that it felt like a moving hotel and when you wake up in the morning, you’re in a completely different city.

All of the places that we visited were very beautiful, although my 3 favorite places were Monte Carlo, Taormina, and Corfu. I loved Monte Carlo because there were amazing views, Taormina because it reminded me of where I come from in Italy, and Corfu because the beaches are amazing and it was very green.

                         Corfu                                                        Monte Carlo                                        Taormina

I had a great trip spending time with my family, playing basketball with them, watching performances, laughing, walking around the cities, and doing crazy dance lessons with my cousin. I made so many memories and met many new friends on the ship. Overall, I had an amazing holiday, by far, one of the best trips I have ever been on.
